Now for the TEST

Try to complete this by our next meeting.  Again, you do NOT need to memorize the material.  Just take in what you can.  Continue to dig deeper by answering the questions.  Begin reviewing your laminated "exam notes" card at this time.

1) Read 20 pages of the Sociology Super Review by REA.  Again, continue taking notes as you read, using an outline method, as this will help you to remember.  You guys are doing great!

2) Make vocabulary flash cards on any special sociology terms in the above reading assignment.  Your flashcards should be written so that the word is on the front of the card and the definition is on the back of the card, so you can quiz yourself later.

3) Read pages 33-39 of the REA Intro to Sociology book.  Finish up last weeks reading as well.

4)  Briefly answer the following questions.  All the answers were in this weeks first reading assignment.  Write the answers on a sheet of paper and bring it to class for review again.  Thanks!

-Name some of the "sociological forces" that impacted Timothy Leary's life.

-In a society, which group defines the "norm?"

-Name two types of "social groups" and give an example for each.

-What is the German word for community?

-The Girl Scouts of America is an example of what?

At our next meeting we will:
-review all flashcards and complete any missing definitions
-review the questions from the previous weeks assignments
-will answer your own questions
-will view more of the video tape

If you desire, you can always continue with reading assignments...
