Masters
Program Feedback: I wanted to share our story to encourage others. My son received his BA in History last year
when he was 18 from Thomas Edison. He received all but 12 of his credits through CLEP, DSST, ALEKS and FEMA.
This
year, he realized that his passion was computers and wanted to go into the field of Cybersecurity. Well, he applied
to 2 master's programs and got accepted into both of them with his TESC degree! He has to take 1 class beforehand because
his BA wasn't in computers, but his BA was enough! They were somewhat confused on his transcript because they use the
last 60 credits of their BA to calculate GPA and he only had 12 credits worth..(I imagine they have NEVER seen such an unusual
transcript with barely any grades).but in the end he is 1/2 way through his first semester and doing wonderfully! He
got accepted to Liberty Univ and Bellevue Univ. He decided on Bellevue only because it is certified by the NSA which
we thought might be important for future jobs.
In all, his BA cost us $9,000 and the MA will
cost $20K. He will graduate at 21 with his Master's Degree. I know you guys have a lot of skeptics for taking
this road....but people just don't get how much time and money you can save while still getting a terrific degree.
CLEPPing is not inferior..in fact, seeing the dual credit classes my other 2 kids are currently taking with open book tests
and minimal requirements, we feel that CLEPPing is often harder and requires more knowledge. Hope that helps!
Press on and ignore the skeptics!!! Misti K.
