1) Read chapter 7 of the "Elements of Technical Writing" book.  Take notes on things that are difficult or new to you.  Stay focused - you're doing great!
 
2)  View any of the applicable online eHow "Laura Turner Writers Series" at http://www.ehow.com/videos-on_9019_technical-writing-skills.html AND at http://www.ehow.com/videos-on_9616_creative-writing-tips-students-teachers.html
Some of these videos will be helpful.  Ignore those that are not applicable.  You may also search the eHow.com video library (top search tool bar) for additional technical writing videos.  eHow is a great resource for instructional videos and it's free.  Watch any videos that correspond with your current reading material.
